It's About Love

A year ago this was just a dream in the back of my mind. It was something that I knew would never really happen, but my gosh, if ever even the smallest opportunity arose to do it, I would. GUESS WHAT? That opportunity came. A friend of mine had the same dream. WOW! Never did I imagine starting my own support group would be something that would be possible. Never did I think my dream would actually happen!
Teen pregnancy is something that I am so passionate about. It's something that I see on a daily basis and I just want to wrap my arms around these moms and just hug them and tell them that they matter, they are loved and supported. This is a time when LOVE is the most important thing for these kids. Love, I promise can help someone in this situation feel so much less stressed. Don't get me wrong, as a parent it is OK to feel discouraged, disappointed, hurt, sad, etc... but also have love and patience.
It is my hope that I give these girls the same kind of love, respect and support I was given 10 plus years ago. That group changed my life in ways I can't even describe. Those volunteers were beyond amazing. They never gave up on us and they always just showed so much love. They provided so many resources and tools that we were able to use in our daily lives.
Following your dreams is not easy. Sometimes you have to make sacrifices that seem selfish or might even seem impossible. When there's a will there is a way! Follow your dreams and turn them into a reality. DO NOT GIVE UP! If you have to do little things at a time, then do it.
I am beyond excited to go on this journey with my friend Brittnie. I am excited to support these teens. I am excited to say that our dream is now a reality! If you are reading this and you know someone who could benefit from a supportive community for pregnant teens/teen moms, please reach out to me or Brittnie.
Thank you for all the love and support! Thank you to those who said "CHELSEA this is your passion, follow your heart."
