Beauty and the Beast ...

This post has nothing to do with adoption, but I just wanted to share my thoughts on this movie. This is one of my ALL time favorite movies. I love the story and I love that no matter your background you are a princess!

Our world we live in is so cruel. We as humans tend to judge, bully, and shun people because of the way they look. Our society is ok with this. It's sickening. Whatever happened to treat others as you would want to be treated?

I know this was just a silly movie, but how true is it when we see homeless people begging for money on the corner and we try not to make eye contact. Or how about the people who dress different than the way you dress? How true is it when we see people with tattoos all over their body we automatically think negative thoughts? They must be criminals or scary? I mean seriously???

I am guilty! 100% GUILTY! The funny thing is, I know so many people who are less fortunate than I am and could easy help them, and will help them. I know plenty of people who dress immodestly and I have thought, "Don't they know their bodies are precious?" But ya know what? Who cares?! And tattoos? Well I have one. I have many friends that have them, and they are great people.

Beauty and the Beast... it's not all about what's on the outside, it is more about what is on the inside. Once you really sit down and get to know someone you will truly find the beauty within!

I hope to be more like Belle in my life. She is a simple girl who fell in love with a miserable beast! She was patient, caring and beautiful. We can all be like this. It might be difficult and maybe you'll have to go out of your comfort zone, but it can be done!

I challenge you this next week to reach out to someone who might need help! Maybe it's the homeless guy on the side of the road. Or the car behind you in Starbucks. Maybe it's going out of your way to do something for the "Beast" in your life!
